Welcome to 2012 Bethlehem Pop Warner Cheerleading!!!!
Our season is right around the corner and we are looking forward to another fun and exciting year. First, PLEASE read the BPW Membership Manual (available on our website under “Forms”). It provides some very important information and will answer many of the questions you may have about the BPW program. 2012 Manual will be posted soon.
Below is some additional information that should help you start planning for a successful Cheerleading season.
Practices
Our season will begin on Wednesday, August 1st at 5:30pm at Hamagrael Elementary School. Practices during the month of August will be held Monday through Thursday, 5:30-8pm at Hamagrael. (Cubbies and Mitey Mites will have an abbreviated schedule beginning Aug. 13). Once the school year begins, practices will be held 2-3 nights a week at a local school gym. Your head coach will determine your practice schedule.
Games
Games begin the first weekend in September and the schedule gets posted at the end of August. Check this website (www.bpwfootball.com) or Capital District Pop Warner website (www.cdpw.org) for information and game schedules. All cheerleaders must arrive at the field 1 hour before game time. Parents should be present for all games and are expected to volunteer 1-2 times at our concession stand for home games. A concession shift schedule will be created once the game schedule is available.
Competition
Our first competition will be October 7, 2012 at the SEFCU Arena at S.U.N.Y Albany. This competition is for ALL squads, but the Cubbies and Mitey Mites do not advance after this competition. Our girls at the Jr. Pee Wee level and above will have the opportunity to move on to the following competitions if they qualify: Oct. 14 in Syracuse, NY; Nov. (date TBD) in Trenton, NJ, and December (date TBD) in Orlando, FL! It can be a long season but VERY exciting for all involved!!! (Admission Tickets for competitions range from $15-$30; as well, travel expenses will occur if team advances).
